Commitment to the Community

Infinity Lithium Corporation and Valoriza Mineria are working together to create a world class project that is close to the town of Caceres. Both Companies are committed to world’s best practice operations and rehabilitation at the end of the life of the project. It is possible that the lithium hydroxide processing facility could operate for much longer, after the mine is completed, processing lithium ores from around the world.

The San Jose project has a substantial lithium resource that is considered to one of Europe’s largest. The project is projected to have an operating life with underground mining and  production of battery grade lithium hydroxide over a project life of 26 years.

Once the project is established Infinity expects that over 700 people will be directly employed at the minesite and processing plant. An additional 1,660 people are anticipated to gain employment through supporting activities, providing real opportunities to the local community after Spain’s significant investments in infrastructure.

The vehicle manufacturing sector, second in size in Europe only to Germany’s automotive industry, is a major part of the Spanish economy, accounting for approximately 10% of GDP with stated government ambitions to grow this figure to 15% of GDP. The San Jose project has a valuable role to play in the ability of Spain to maintain a leading role in this industry as vehicle manufacturing increasingly involves electric vehicles.
