Commitment to the Community
Infinity Lithium Corporation and Valoriza Mineria are working together to create a world class project that is close to the town of Caceres. Both Companies are committed to world’s best practice operations and rehabilitation at the end of the life of the project. It is possible that the lithium hydroxide processing facility could operate for much longer, after the mine is completed, processing lithium ores from around the world.
The San Jose project has a substantial lithium resource that is considered to one of Europe’s largest. The project is projected to be mined for up to 19 years whilst the production of battery grade lithium hydroxide is expected to continue for 30 years.
Once the project is established Infinity expects that over 200 people will be directly employed at the minesite and processing plant. An additional 1,000 people gaining employment through supporting activities, providing real opportunities to the local community after Spain’s significant investments in infrastructure.
The vehicle manufacturing sector, second in size in Europe only to Germany’s automotive industry, is a major part of the Spanish economy, accounting for approximately 10% of GDP. The San Jose project has a valuable role to play in the ability of Spain to maintain a leading role in this industry as vehicle manufacturing increasingly involves electric vehicles.
